Well, you will all be relieved to know that Kim Kardashian has really made it.

Never mind her 5 million dollar a year salary. Or whatever it is. Money is not the true measure of success.

I know she has really infiltrated every crevice of the universe because my dad turned to me the other day and said, “So who is this Kim Kardashian? I see her name everywhere. And there seems to be more than one of her.”

So yes, between diaper changings and school pick-ups, I explained to my dad the difference between Kim, Khloe and the rest of the K crew.

Meanwhile, I’ve been so distressed over this season of “Project Runway,” which is too light on talent and too heavy on bangs. As a result of “Project Runway” fatigue, I have become obsessed with “The Rachel Zoe Project,” a reality show about the famous stylist. But now her assistant Brad (who is hilarious) has left the show.  If you don’t watch, it’s as if Chuy left Chelsea Handler. Or if Carol left Mike Brady.  Or if Mork left Mindy. That sort of thing.

And Bravo hasn’t decided on whether there will be a fourth season.

So I may have to spearhead a letter writing campaign to save “The Rachel Zoe Project.”

I did it for “Party of Five” and I’ll just have to summon the energy to do it again.

Because this is important styling shit.

Hey, maybe Matthew Fox could be Rachel Zoe’s new assistant? Just brainstorming here.

This post is so shallow that I have to think of something super important to write. Let’s talk about the midterm elections. Holy crap, are the Democrats in trouble? It’s going to be 1994 all over again. And then Obama better get that comeback kid Clinton on the phone and find out how to get re-elected before he is compared to Jimmy Carter for eternity.

I feel smarter now. A little political analysis can do that for me.

So let’s talk about Courteney Cox and David Arquette.  They are separated? For real? Why does this make me sad?!

This is part of the statement they released…

“We remain best friends and responsible parents to our daughter and we still love each other deeply.”

Umm… isn’t that the definition of a pretty awesome marriage? Maybe their expectations are too high.

Well, at least Jennifer Aniston has a wing woman now.

I do not know what is going on with Courtney and David separating. I just wrote a shallow post on it too. RZ-I am sad that Brad has left and am curious about the pregnancy rumors. I am still upset about Taylor leaving, although she was a ummm shall we say brat… I liked her and didnt believe she did those awful things. If Rachel is pregnant, that will be one stylish baby. 🙂

So funny that I heard the song Closer to Free yesterday playing at Duane Reade and it was the theme song of Party of Five. I loved loved loved that show!!! And I miss it desperately!

  • If I do psychological analysis of Courtney and David will that pull it out of it’s shallowness!! : ) Opposites do attract but doesn’t mean that it makes for a good match EVEN with therapy. He talked way too much to Howard Stern for them to be able to get back together. He spilled all the beans. I was caught off guard as well.

  • Jennifer says:

Brad left the show? OH. mahgod. That was my Rachel voice. So maybe it needs work?

Please tell me you’re going to watch RH Beverly Hills. The void has to be filled, somehow.

  • Lisa says:

This is why I come here – you are my one stop “news’ source! Well, I do have one other news source…Howard Stern and like Carolyn said above David called in yesterday. It sounds like what Courtney thought to be cute and funny about David is not anymore. So sad.

  • Jordana Bales says:

I would appreciate a brief analysis of the three different KKs (ooooh, maybe that’s why you like them!). Also,I didn’t know that about Cox-Arquette – that is said. Can Demi and Ashton be far behind?

  • CSY says:

Unfortunately, I know more about the Kardashians than I’ve EVER known about another woman and I’ve NEVER met them face-to-face. Although, I HAVE been tempted to write Kris and ask her about managing her girls…mine wants to be an actress and she WANTS me to be her Mom-ager…wonder if Diana Lohan is giving classes…

Bummed about brad – did not know that – he was the reason I watched this show. Do you watch flipped out on brave – gotta love jeff lewis and all his madness. Or how about that program about the design family in NYC with all the kids – LOVED that show…not so sad about david and courtney – always thought that was a weird pairing. Anyway thats my two cents for the day. Have a good one.

  • Kelcey says:

Ok my mom just read this post and says she has never heard of one person that I mention. Except Obama. She is familiar with that guy.

  • Diane says:

It just goes to show you – there is entertainment value out there for everyone. Some of us dig talk-radio drama – some of us love the Kardashian antics. Is this a great country or what? Love how you write – no matter what the subject. Thanks!

  • Aunt Marcia (Guess Whose?) says:

I always said, ‘If Ted Turner and Jane Fonda couldn’t keep their marriage together ($$$/looks/brains/success/age appropriate)….what hope is there for anyone else?

I keep up on pop culture when I have lots of doctor appts and get to read the mags in their offices. And this is strictly OFF THE RECORD, but some mags have been known to disappear if my waiting room time is too short!

  • amourningmom says:

I need to start watching the news or reading People. Between diaper changes can you give me the cliff notes version of the Kardashians? Very sad about Courtney & David but good job of finding the bright side of the separation. XOXO

  • I hate to break your bubble, Kelcey, but your letter writing campaign to Party of 5 didn’t work. How do I know this? Because I think saw Neve Campbell panhandling yesterday. Isn’t it unsettling when our parents clue into pop culture?? My mom texted me the other day, “Lady Gaga is coming to your state.” Whaaa?

  • Stephanie (Tyler's Mom) says:

Your humor is the best! Being that I’m 9 weeks preggo and sick as dog, I need a little humor now and again! Fingers crossed that Obama and Clinton become BFF’s real fast! 🙂
