This Rhode Island vacation is really hitting its stride.

Mostly because we used up the single ply toilet paper in our rental house and bought double ply. I think you’ll find that double ply really makes all the difference when it comes to quality of life.

When we aren’t enjoying the double ply, it’s fun to watch my brother-in-law spend hours hunting down mosquitoes in the house. From what I can tell, his technique involves turning off the lights a lot, cursing and madly thrashing his arms about. But I have very few bites so something must be working.

And yes, there’s been a lot of schlepping on this vacation…

But so many moments of joy…

Especially at the Water Wizz. That’s a rinky dink water slide park in town. Obviously we wanted to go because the name is so classy.

It turned out to be ridiculously fun.

Here’s me…

Here’s Rick…

Here’s Chase after he got splashed while watching Rick…

It’s so rough being a spectator.

And my 68-year-old mother was apparently over boogie boarding and thought flying down a water slide would be more fun – so she joined us too.

That woman is racing through her bucket list.

Then we hit the beach where Rick, riding high on his water slide acumen, lost his brand new John Varvatos sunglasses in the Atlantic ocean.

And because he’s the luckiest bastard on the planet, he and his volunteer search crew not only found his glasses but a pair of Oakleys at well.

Who finds their sunglasses in the Atlantic ocean?! Only people that win dance contests and Emmys.

In fact, a couple on the beach asked Rick if he could find some rings they lost in the water the day before.

He is on it.

Are you looking for something new to read? You all came up with the best ideas! Check out “So What Are You Reading?” I am now reading “Bossypants” by Tina Fey thanks to you all who recommended it.

Does Listening count as Reading??? I’m currently listening to Prince Dandypants And The Masked Avenger by Kaye Umansky and read by Tony Robinson.
It is HYSTERICAL… and I’m totally in the wrong page to write this, aren’t I???

That is hilarious that he found his pair of glasses plus another. The only other person that would happen to is MY husband. He can find a needle in a haystack. Literally.

If you are anywhere near Providence, you should check out my friend’s restaurant. It’s called the Duck & Bunny- kind of a bakery/bar on Wickenden Street and it is AWESOME.

Tell them Mommy Shorts sent you. You might get a free cupcake.

His best find was YOU, in an ocean of losers. Happy Birthday again….enjoy the summer. I’m flying to NYC on Friday and your photos inspired me to bring along my bathing suit. Note: I didn’t say ‘I’d wear it’, just bringing it along for the plane ride.

Wow, two-ply toilet paper? That does sound like a vacation!

By the way, I recommended “Rise and Shine” by Anna Quinlan without really realizing you are a New Yorker. The way she writes about New York is really wonderful. I’d be curious to know if you agree or disagree with her assertions.

    What a great vacation…

…and there is a job for Rick in Florida. The Danish crownprince lost his weddingring in the water. It is made of gold from Greenland – actually the first gold ever exploited from Greenland.
I bet that there is a all-paid trip to Denmark with a castle visit included if he heads to Florida and finds it…!!! Key West – it is…

Rick is good at finding things – remember when he found an extra laptop at our house :-)?! 2 ply does make a world of difference. Love all the vacation pictures! xoxo
