On the first day of school, I decided it would be fun for my girls to take photos with Kindergarten and Second Grade signs. I said to my husband, “How do you spell kindergarten? Is it d-e-n or t-e-n? I always forget.”
“d-e-n,” said the Emmy winning journalist with confidence.
“That’s what I thought,” said the Ivy league masters’ graduate.
So I posted this on Facebook…
Except we were both wrong. Spelling might not be our forte. I’m sure we have other strengths.
So I corrected it…

That’s funny. I always just write K since I never can remember how to spell. You have to spell it 2 more times, I’m done!

Love it! I tried to help my middle-schooler with spelling the other night, and got too many wrong. Started checking them all on my phone, how embarrassing.
This is why I just always call it ‘kindy’

Thank goodness I have another year to learn that spelling with Sophia being in Pre-K 4′s. VERY easy to spell. We’d LOVE a little NY KIDS CLUB love given our bank is already broken with school:)
LOL…wonder if you will remember it when the twins start kindergarten…(and actually it is an German word – so you could go all native and spell it kindergärten).
NY kids club is the best. My daughter went for the infant music class there and I still sing her those songs. Your writing is hilarious. Please pick me.
