I am shamelessly stealing this idea from OHmommy who recently raised money for the earthquake victims of Haiti. Brilliant ideas are totally worth copying.
For every comment on this post, I will donate $1 to help the Haitian people. I have to cap it at $200. But I want to give more. So I asked two amazing businesses, Baby Star and Yogamat Boutique if they would partner with me in this cause. These are the kind of companies that don’t just make fabulous products but also care about our environment and our world. Both Baby Star and Yogamat Boutique agreed to match my donation!
So please leave a comment on this post to make your dollar count. And please take a moment to visit the sites of Baby Star and Yogamat.
Baby Star is a super stylish, eco friendly baby apparel and accessories company. You will love everything on their site. From blankets to bedding to diaper bags, this is THE site for design savvy parents. Or at least those of us who strive to get there.
This is their super cute rick-rack dress for ages 3 months to 24 months, available in adorable patterns.Β Baby Star is also donating 10% of its January proceeds to the Mercy Corps efforts in Haiti.
Yogamat Boutique is an ecologically conscious active and lounge wear company. They sell the cutest, most flattering clothes, for doing yoga or just lounging around. This company was started by three impressive women (a former model, rock musician and denim market executive) so they know style and beauty.
This is their Delhi Silhouette yoga pants for spring. It’s an adorable capri and you can pair it with the Andaman top that promises to hides back fat and love handles. Yahoo for that!
So thank you to Yogamat and Baby Star for their generous donations. And thank you everyone for taking a moment to leave a comment and help us raise money for Haiti. I am so grateful. xo xo
Bless you for helping the people of Haiti. Your blog is a welcome respite for me.

A comment for Haiti! There is someone in Ardsley collecting stuffed animals for Haitian children, which seems like such an easy way to help for all us who have so many we can donate. Let me know if I can send you the info.

Thanks, wonderful idea!
Good morning!
very nice, thank you for doing this!
This is awesome. I love the matching donations that you got. And *sigh* Baby Star makes me want another little one just so I can buy these adorable dresses.
42 dollars and counting! Pioneer Woman only paid 10 cents a comment. But at 25,000 comments, that was the wise thing to do.
Of course I’ll comment and do my part. Thanks Kelcey, for everything you do, even the little things that may not seem like much from one perspective. Every bit of insight or humor or even pain that you share through your blog touches hearts and spreads positive energy in ways that can’t be measured. This is something that can be, and I for one, am grateful.
Oh, and who are you sending it to? My faves are Doctors Without Borders and Partners in Health. Mrs. G at the Women’s Colony picked Oxfam for her fundraiser.
Well done! Great effort and thanks for the links.
Checked out their sites and bookmarked them! Thanks.
Cha-ching cha-ching, keep it coming!

HAITI
We can never understand
what these people are going through,
the destruction of homes and lives
of buildings old and new
As we see the images
on our computers and TV’s
our hearts go out for the people
and the suffering we see
Looking at the pain and grief
on the faces before our eyes,
we must reach out and help
as it’s not too late to save lives
There is so much that they need
Help can come in many ways
Shelter, food, search and rescue
is required over the coming days
So many lives have been lost
Let us pray with all our hearts
as these people don’t deserve
to have their world torn apart
In a land where life was tough
before the earthquake hit
Now things are so much worse
but we can all do a little bit
So look inside your conscience
Can you help in any way?
Your donation will make a difference,
for the needed aid it will help pay
Show we ALL care.
~ Karen Bailey, January 2010

This is a wonderful thing you are doing. Thank you, and thank you also for telling us about these great companies!
I love it that you are doing this. Stealing rocks.
Thanks for doing this~here’s to reaching 200!
Yes, it’s horrible to watch the pictures coming in of the suffering going on there. However, the USA has given milllions/billions in AID over the years to a corrupt government and it never trickled down to the people. I’ve been to Haiti and I wouldn’t return there in the ‘best of times’. I’d suggest the USA take over the country, spend our taxpayer money on making it a vacation paradise, creating jobs for Haitians and eliminating crime- ridden Mexico from getting tourist dollars from us. My contribution has been given to the Red Cross…
great job kelc, and all your super readers who are doing good work!
This is a great idea for a great cause. Kudos to you Kelcey.. and welcome to Westchester!!

Great idea Kelc…here’s my dollar. I will also be helping in another way by possibly deploying with my disaster team and our 2 Mobile Acute Care Hospitals (named MACH-I and II) in the next few weeks. Keep me, my colleagues, and the people of Haiti in your prayers. Thanks.
