the lesson of the baby book
Sometimes Rick says the most insane things.
Like the other night he said, “Now that you’ve done Summer’s baby book, do you think you’ll put together our wedding album?”
My God, does he think I’m some kind of magical miracle worker or something?
I JUST finished the baby book after 2 years of procrastination. I need to rest. I would say at least a second season of “90210″ before I can even contemplate another album. Plus I’m too busy watching YouTube videos like this one (a guy updating his Facebook relationship status during his wedding) to take on another big craft project right now.
So be warned, there is a downside of finally pulling together one of those baby books. It leads to great expectations.
Oh and another crazy thing my husband mentioned the other day….
“I don’t like this frosted shredded wheat. I prefer the plain.”
The ones that taste like cardboard?
Rick eats shredded wheat as a healthy snack and I suggested he buy the frosted ones because they would obviously taste so much better and aren’t much higher in calories.
But he swears they are too sweet. I’m not even familiar with the concept “too sweet” so I just looked at him with this puzzled expression.
I guess I’ll understand his love of plain shredded wheat about the same time he understands why I’m cold when it’s 61 degrees outside.
Which should be about the same time that wedding album gets made.

Don’t be surprised if you start getting invites to scrap booking parties and stamping up parties since your crafty now!

Stamping up parties…hee hee. I’m so proud, and I agree, at least year off, sheesh.

You, my dear, are too sweet.
Um.
2 years of procrastination is nothing. I could put off cleaning my car for the rest of my life and at this rate I will probably succeed.

my husband snacks on the plain shredded wheat too, it boggles the brain!
we saw rick covering the weekend during the day…i was all proud to show my husband that i knew someone on TV, until he asked how i knew him…heeheed.

Plain shredded wheat is of the devil. The rest of the family over here love them. That video was TOO silly.

not sure how long you guys have been married but I FINALLY am putting my wedding album together after 7 years…! My son is now 3 years old -a baby book is a ways off… I’m thinking it would make a nice high school graduation gift.

Haven’t you read, Skinny Bitch? Sugar is the devil… bitch! lol…

Just this morning, I was contemplating ordering our wedding pictures 18 months after the big day. Good to know there are lots of fellow procrastinators who won’t judge.

Oh my goodness! This is hilarious. I’m with you on the Shredded Wheat. The sugar makes it barely tolerable. Plain? Sheesh!
My husband also says things are “too sweet” and “too rich.” It’s almost as if he gets pleasure out of privation.

Barbara’s plain shredded wheat not as good as the sweet crispy rice cereal…. Plain doesn’t do it for me but the kids like it so I buy both. And, maybe it’s a female thing, I’m always cold–frozen hands/feet, and Eric is blood boiling warm.

You know what’s better as a snack than shredded anything? M&Ms.

I love shredded wheat. Plain. But I put brown sugar on it. Hmm…

Didn’t you have a video made of the wedding with sounds of people throwing up drunk, a view of the smorgas board stampede and the Rabbi performing the ceremony and forgetting your names? Not to mention throwing the bouquet and your fattest single relative taking a dive on the floor for it.

I’m thinking I’ll get ours together as a 10th anniversary memento.

Wasn’t he going to do that?

tell rick to dunk that shredded wheat in some peanut butter, then roll it in chocolate chips.
but then again, you don’t get hips like this from snackin on plain wheat biscuits.

Too sweet, eh? Definitely belongs in the same category as too thin and too rich…

Eh, wedding albums are very 2002. just stick some photos on your blog and call it a day.

i don’t see the appeal of shredded wheat either. i hope that your mum deals with this current struggle as she has so obviously in the past and that she returns to full health soon. what a scare for you all. hugs xoxoxox

I have to agree with hubby on this one. I hate frosted mini-wheats, but love regular shredded wheat with a tiny spoonful of sugar on it. Go figure…..
Hope your mom is doing well and that you are all going to be able to celebrate Christmas together. What a horrible thing to happen!

So funny that you mention wedding albums. I was actually thinking some day I gotta get to that…meaning never:(
I hope your Mom is doing well:)

Has Rick tried the Trader Joe’s shredded wheat – it is not as sweet. No need to worry about the wedding album today – there is always tomorrow . . . .

So sorry to hear of your mom’s (someone else’s) accident and hope her recovery is swift and uncomplicated. There are lots of us rooting for you and her!

My husband knows better than to make comments like those.
