Like everyone, I’ve really been struggling with this Colorado shooting. It’s just so awful and unsettling and cruel. And I don’t have any words to bring light to all that madness. I am shocked again and again by the violence in this world.

On Facebook, I posted a quote via Ann Imig that did bring me a little bit of peace.

“When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, ‘Look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping.’ To this day, especially in times of “disaster,” I remember my mother’s words and I am always comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers – so many caring people in this world.”
-Fred Rogers

It’s true. During that horrible Colorado night, there were hundreds of people helping and protecting and doing everything they could to save others.

And these photos of my ballet troupe just make me smile. I have no idea how they convinced Chase to wear those tights but I know he thought they were very long socks.
