for everyone except this guy…
This 48 year-old skier was boarding the chairlift at Vail Ski Resort and apparently the fold-up seat wasn’t in the right position, causing him to fall through a gap.
As for how he lost his pants, well… that’s not completely clear.
He dangled up there for 15 minutes.
His fellow skiers did their part by snapping lots of pictures.

i heard my husband laughing along with the today show over this one.
that is some kind of karma, poor dude.
there are so many thing to say, i can’t bring myself to say any of them…
i’d give anything to be on the slopes of vail today, even my pants!
How about ‘have you ever considered hair removal as an option?’
oh, that poor guy! lol
oh my goodness… There are many amazing things to see in Vail, but this takes the cake.
Oh that M ADE my day!! Thanks…
Poor guy. Imagine the shrinkage going on in THAT weather!!
hmmm….I am thinking twice about skiing now.
I am so selfish all I can think is “glad it wasn’t me”
Seems like their should be some brown on that arse of his….
And these are exactly the kind of people you avoid when you decide to only drink cocoa in the warm at such events!
i feel so bad for this guy. it was of course of our local news which is bad enough but making national news, poor dude, poor poor dude!
Now THAT is funny! Poor guy…
Insert icicle joke here.
I’m with Rick, but can you imagine what it was like for the kid sitting next to him on the lift or the ski patrol who had to help him down. I feel terrible abt laughing, but it is just so outrageous.
I’ve been hearing about this non-stop for the last couple days–poor guy.
My worst fear as a skier is falling off the lift. My second worst fear is being the one next to the one that falls and not being able to control the laughter, thus being of no help whatsoever. Imagine the interview with Matt Lauer, “So let me understand this Megan. You did nothing to assist this man? You were laughing too hard?”. “You are absolutely correct, Matt”. And the laughter would begin again.
That was definitely my entertainment for the afternoon ( : I’m the one weaving my arms around the frame of the seat on the lifts for fear of things just like this!
I’ll be skiing in Vail next week…I will remember to wear underwear;P
oh my goodness….
where was the mama bird when all this was happening?
I really shouldn’t be laughing because I have fallen off a ski lift before and it is one of the most embarassing things that has ever happened to me. At least I was able to keep my pants on!!!
Flipping hysterical!!!
and the question on everyone’s lips: how much did he sue the ski resort for!!!
That’s the funniest thing I have seen ALL day. Thank you!!! Totally irrelevant to your life and blog, but very much appreciated!!!
I do feel sorry for this guy….he will be the laughing stock for some time to come.
Really?!?!? HAHAHAHAHA!
Sorry. I mean that’s terrible but hahahahaha….I mean, how did? ….what? …. snot…hahahaha…
OH MY GOD! I’m so embarrased for him… and for myself because I keep looking at that picture.
How many lawyers stuck their business cards into this guys hanging pants? He’ll be laughing all the way to the bank for the big bucks he’ll collect just for mooning everyone for 15 minutes in the cold.
imagine the riot of laughter there…poor guy!
You gotta feel sorry for the guy… and anyone else who might have a ‘bad moment’… because all embarrassing moments are now caught on cameras and posted on the web within minutes!
So I’m always, always, always sound asleep by 10. But the last few nights, due to pain beyond my control, I’ve been up past 1. Saw this guy on Letterman last night. Poor schmoe!
Absolutely hilarious. Hope he didn’t get frostbite!
Poor guy!!
