Who knew that you could get pregnant when you have 8 week-old twins?!

Oh people. I would never.

It’s my sister. My little sister Quinn. The girl who once took her goldfish out of the tank so she could cuddle and sleep with it. She obviously has that mothering instinct.

I can’t wait to be an Aunt.

Look how cute she looks…

And here she is showing off her pregnancy belly while I hide my postpartum belly…

Quinn and my brother-in-law Erik were visiting us for a week. I unintentionally left the latest New York Magazine in our guest bathroom. So this is the cover that welcomed them when they arrived…

The article is about how studies show that having kids make people LESS happy. Basically, parents hate parenting. Their little bundle of joy sucks the joy right out of their lives.

Umm… yeah, sorry Quinn and Erik.

Look I promise… kids are cool. I had four of them, didn’t I?

    Yay for Quinn and Erik!

I found that having my daughter was about three times more work than I anticipated but about ten times more fun.

Father of four and enjoying it. Each one brought a load of love when he/she arrived and each left a load behind when they left. At 78 I’m still enjoying it.

Congratulations to you all! I remember when she came to visit at Tulane and we went to see Jesse Jackson. I still remember how excited she was. I can only imagine how excited you are that she is pregnant! Fabulous news!

My girlfriend got pregnant with her 5th when her twins were 12 weeks old. True story. Her youngest is now 2. You should see her FB photo album of getting ready for their summer vacay. Her kitchen island had PB&J sandwiches lined up from one end to the nect. Funny stuff.

Congrats to your sister! How fun. You joke, but my friend got pregnant with her 3rd 3 months after the birth of her twins. The twins were fertility. The third was obviously not!

I am a new auntie too! Congrats! I get such a thrill – when other people have babies. I met these lovely ladies the other day – I of course do not have use for their chic gowns since everyone I know is shipping their kids off to middle school or HS – but your sis would look great in one of these. They would be a great gift for the woman that has it all!

  • Aunt Marcia (Guess Whose?) says:

After my hysterectomy, there was an article about one sister carrying the embryo for her sister who had no uterus.. Sort of a surrogate uterus…for her sister who had the hysterectomy. I asked my sister if she’d do that for me if I wanted a baby; and she made a better offer, ‘Why don’t I just give you one I already have’? So you could have saved Quinn the morning sickness and squeezing a watermelon out of her schmunny. I hope Quinn’s baby has the family resemblence to Lillie..

my neighbor has 5. 11, 10, 7, and i don’t know the ages of the littlest two. the two oldest both have birthdays in march. they are LESS then 12 months apart. YIKES. she grows more and more nuts as the years pass. anyway, your tag line startled me, but i know you could manage. you are doing great!
