At 8 months, the twins have finally started sitting on their own. Well, Chase sometimes still falls over. But that’s the downside of having a big head. The upside is obviously… hmmm…. I’m not sure the benefits of a big head. I guess one might be that your sisters call you Chasey Big Head.
Anyway, with both of them sitting, it’s time to transition them into high chairs. So we head to the basement and find our high chair which is in perfect condition…
except we can’t find the legs.
I mean, it you’re going to store a chair – don’t you keep the legs with it? I don’t get it.Β Where are the legs?
This chair will be perfect for Chase when he has a traditional Japanese dinner in our tatami room.
But since we don’t have an actual tatami room (although certainly a must if we decide to renovate), we invested in some new high chairs…
If you know anyone in the market for a legless high chair, you know where to send them.
P.S. I don’t actually let my 8-month-olds eat pretzels and cheese duckies as this picture might suggest. They just like the bags. Please don’t tell me they shouldn’t be chewing on the bags.
Both so cute. And I LOVE her hair!
I can’t get over how cute those two are! My second child had hair just like Harlowe’s- it grew straight up! I miss that!
He is going to be one handsome sushi eater!
Can’t decide which adjective funnier or cuter.
My 9 month old son Will also has a big head. But he was actually an early sitter…because he also has a big belly that serves as excellent stabilization – his upper body sort of just rests on it. Might be awhile before he’s crawling, pulling up, etc. – he’s not even very good at turning over – lugging around both a big belly and a big head seems to be a lot of work!
Seriously, how can these babies get cuter?!? HOW!?! I love Chase and his big head. I had a big headed baby (really it’s gigantic) and I’m marrying a big headed man.
Chase is in good hands, or head. Or legless highchair. Ya know.
Big head=big brains, clearly. Those babes are gorgeous.
Chase, don’t listen to your sisters. Big head = big brain!
Did you check the Princess tent for the legs?
I love Harlowe’s ‘feathers’. I love Chase’s unique way of eating with a fork! Where exactly does he put the food? (don’t want to know). As I scrolled down and the words matched the picture ….no legs…I laughed out loud!! Thanks again for my morning smile!
I love the idea of a formal Japanese dining room!
Her hair is so cute. My little girl has almost no hair so I get envious of the cute baby hair.
I think you should just go ahead with the tea room. Sitting on comfy pillows while eating sounds awesome. And the babies will have less distance to throw their food to the floor π
LOVE your blog! Found it recently and am truly entertained. OH – and they should totally be chewing on the bag. And I totally think it’s okay to give your 8 month olds cheese duckies. I’m convinced my 9 month old would eat chips and dog food if I would let her. π
I love me a big baby head! Those two get cuter everytime you post new pictures of them.
A tatami room is a great idea, by the way. I’ve got to go get busy sawing the legs of our dining room table!
you and rick make beautiful babies kelsey, it’s true. xo
The legs are in Boca. I called.
OMG – need a babysitter? Those babies make me want to run out and have a couple more!
Aww , too cute. I can relate, I have a nice mountain bike with no seat/seat post. I refuse to buy another because, really, it has to be somewhere, who stores a bike without the seat?
How did Chase know he needed a tie to dine in a high chair? Babies are too cute; don’t you want some more?
Ha! That reminds me of the time I put out a pitch on FB about how to get ballpoint pen off of walls and doors. And any comments saying “How about not letting your kids run rampant with ball point pens?” would not be appreciated.
They are so cute!!
Every time I go up in the attic (also known as the black hole) I find stuff we’ve saved — but usually just half of it.
It is very possible the legs to your high chair ended up in our attic.
that baby has some crazy hair!
glad to see you bypassed fancy fabric upholstery for the chairs. soaked- in, crusty leftovers are just NASTY/DELICIOUS… depending on your age and diaper size.
I’m guessing the legs are currently being used as some sort of weapons. Beware.
OMG the cuteness. My oldest has a HUGE noggin. Guess where he gets it? ME! Actlors have big ole heads. Chase, Miles and I were just intended to be celebs. Plus more room for brains.
Super cute. Chase’s head is just the right size. Please hug them both for me. xoxo
We come from a family of big heads and call ourselves “bobble heads.” Unfortunately for my daughter and my sister’s children, they inherited the big heads, too. All the more room for a big brain, right?!
Um, and the legless high chair. You had me rolling…so very typical of most mothers, I do believe.
Wait. 8 month olds aren’t supposed to chew on bags? That is one of the many ways I distract my 8 month old while she is sitting in her high chair as I prepare her meals. I’m convinced she likes chewing on the bags better than actual food.
Adorable kiddos, by the way. π
I am dying from the cuteness!
that is some serious cuteness overload. love chase’s shirt! (and harlowe’s hair!)
I know that Ikea highchair. Got one myself that would look exactly the same if I could chip off the remains of every meal consumed in it for the last 2 years.
They are so bloody cute.
