You’re never going to find a bunch of recipes on this website. I’m just not that girl. But my kids still need to eat.

So I was intrigued to try out a new children’s food delivery service, Susie’s Supper Club. The meals are prepared with organic and natural ingredients (good!), with mild flavors to make them kid friendly.

Before I even had a chance to try out some of the dishes on my girls, my husband was already digging in. Let’s just say he’s now a big fan of  Susie and her yummy meals.

And the girls are pleased too. 4 year-old Dylan loved the Asian fish cakes, the spinach squares and the polenta fries! And 2 year-old Summer, who pretty much only hearts carbs, really liked the chicken milanese.

My biggest concern was the take-out containers that the food is delivered in. These containers are reusable but you can not recycle them in New York City. And how many containers do we all need in our little apartments?!

But the company is happy to pick up the containers from their customers and deliver them monthly to a recycling area outside the city. A company with a social conscious. That might be what I like about Susie’s Supper Club most of all.

Over the weekend, I had the chance to check out “Dear Edwina,” an Off-Broadway musical comedy for kids and adults playing in the Union Square area.

13 year-old Edwina Spoonapple (you know this musical will be good with a name like that) and her very entertaining friends put on a show in their backyard to audition for for the Kalamazoo Advice-a-Palooza Festival.

Edwina gives advice on all kinds of problems like rotten siblings, making new friends and how to set a table. The music is really creative and fun. Songs like “Hola, Lola” and “Put It in the Piggy” are especially fabulous. Two days later and I’m still humming “Hola, Lola” to myself. Well, that’s better than the Jonas Brothers.

The show is just over an hour (the perfect length for a kids’ show) and intended for children 5 and up but my 2 year-old sat through the whole thing and barely took her eyes off the stage.  Tickets are regularly $39. Maybe you’re pissed off that “Lipstick Jungle” is headed for the TV graveyard of canceled shows.  Or maybe you can no longer handle Izzie’s ridiculous relationship with her DEAD ex-fiance Denny on “Grey’s Anatomy.”

Or just possibly, you actually went to see “Four Christmases” in the theater because Vince Vaughn is SO funny and Reese Witherspoon is SO cute but as it turns out, the movie is SO mediocre.

Well, forget all that. Seriously. Because I just watched an incredible, uplifting movie, called “Darius Goes West.”

It’s a documentary (don’t be scared) about 15 year-old Darius Weems, who suffers from a fatal disease, Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD). His brother died from the same disease.

But the movie isn’t depressing.  It’s completely inspiring.  And funny. And beautiful.

Weems and eleven of his best friends set off across America with the ultimate goal of getting his wheelchair customized on MTV’s “Pimp My Ride.” The movie is about friendship and love and the difference we can all make.

$17 dollars of every sale of this movie is devoted to promising DMD research. Their goal is to sell a million DVD’s by July 2009.  To learn more about “Darius Goes West” click here.
