I’m pregnant with my second child and we don’t know the sex. We are solid on a boy’s name. But we can’t figure out our girl’s name. Basically, I like a name for about 2 weeks and then I’m over it. Please tell me what you think of the names below and I would love new names to consider. I’m desperate for fresh ideas! The name needs to go with Ava, our 2 year-old. Bonus for palindromes.

Here are our current favorites: Zoe, Violet, Lili (or Lily), Drea and Anna

Other ideas?

Thank you! – Jordana

I like Lili. I know an acquaintence who has an Ava, and two sisters, Eve, and Elle, if you really are into the palindrome thing. Did I tell you there is another mom at Tess' school named Jordana?

LOVE AVA and before I finished reading your post, that is the name I was going to suggest…(We have two boys but AVA was our choice for a girl). I love Lili (short for Lillian?). Drea is unique and Violet is nice too…I don't think you can go wrong with any of your choices. Congrats!

We didn't know the sex of our baby either and we were totally firm on a boys name but didn't make a final decision on the girls name until we were on the way to the hospital. We were down to 2 names and as my sister told me- go with my gut which I did and am so happy I listened to that advice! So at the end of the journey go with your gut!
That being said I love Lily/Lili and Anna. Drea is pretty but people may ask her her whole life "is that short for andrea?" good luck and congrats

you are going to get a million opinions here… but, drea is my least favorite.. i really like lily and anna (although ava and anna might be too similar)… violet is cute.. might grow on me;) i also like charlie as someone else suggested but since you seem to be into feminine names, that might not work… i also like classics like lauren and samantha.. we had a really hard time with girls names for some reason.. i could list a million boys names i'd like! so excited for you… and if you tell me where that piece of paper is i'd sneak a peak too:)

My faves are Zoe and Lily. There's something about the "eee" sound at the end of the names that sounds nice with Bales. To that end, I also like the names Chloe and Carly.

Hey Jo-congrats! No Anna, Drea, or Violet. If I only have that list to pick from I pick LILY. Chloe was a good suggestion. I don't know, I like those waspy names meant for boys for a girl so maybe i'm not the one to ask. I just wanted to say congrats!!!Hey, name it Abby if you want an A name!! 🙂 ha ha

Drea sounds like drey which is a yiddish word that means to incessently bother or annoy or loosely "to beat a dead horse". All the other names are adorable. Hope this helps.

I put in a vote for Hannah Hannah which is the name of the Mother of biblical Samuel. Also a vote for Aviva (which means Spring in Hebrew) is AND is a Palindrome.
